lyrics
Blood-thirsty offspring of giants and orcs
The beast-men of far Nordenvaar
Crossed on the ice in the mid-winter's chill
To claim north lands from our king.
Roaring, bashing
Crooked teeth gnashing
Norfyr the scourge of the gods.
Raping, impaling
Eldraani failing
to hold back the terrible horde.
Hail, Stormstrider
Chosen of the Sky
Ascend, your time has come
Hear our cries.
Loose, the lightning bolts
Call the winds to war
See the frozen north
Ripped from the shore.
Eldraani forces campaign in the south
Bringing Arosi to heel
The people, abandoned, were eaten or slain
Enslaved like beasts to be tamed.
Torn by their pain
Spurred by their need
One brave man fought back alone.
His power was lifted
The Sky Serpent gifted
The power to master the storm.
Hail, Stormstrider
Chosen of the Sky
Ascend, your time has come
Hear our cries.
Loose, the lightning bolts
Call the winds to war
See the frozen north
Ripped from the shore.
Wielding the power of serpents
Stormstrider fought all as one
Unleashing the terror and wrath of the gods
The Norfyr conquest undone.
Sensing the ice bridge had weakened
From the thunderous feet of the horde
He brought all his might, crashing from high
And severed the North from our shore.
Hail, Stormstrider
Chosen of the Sky
Ascend, your time has come
Hear our cries.
Loose, the lightning bolts
Call the winds to war
See the frozen north
Ripped from the shore.
It may not be a surprise to know that my introduction to this band was when they opened for Deströyer 666. I admit, their name didn't fill me with an abundance of anticipatory enthusiasm beforehand, but goddamn! did they own that stage while they were out there! Morts
I purchased Lunar Falls without hearing a second of it, assuming some kind of folk, maybe even reminiscient of Heilung. The latter it is not, but atmospheric and yet dark folk it is indeed! Beautifully fragile, peaceful and pristine, these 44 minutes should be enjoyed as a whole, resulting in a seamless and undeniably calming listening experience. If you're in any way prone to folk, there is nothing left to be desired here. Take a break from the rush that everyday life is, and breathe. Stunning. David Fischer
