lyrics
I’ve travelled far, wide have I roamed
With my axe and shield there’s no shore unknown
In shady old taverns we dwell while on shore
Where mead fills our bellies and our beds with whores
Sit by the fire, bring life to your bones
The cold sea is bitter when so far from home
So fill your cup sailor we leave here at dawn
Last drink before sunrise then it’s into the storm
Come heed my warning not all is as seems
Pirates are treacherous, with gold our eyes gleam
The captain will tempt you with stories of wealth
But remember my words lad, this life can be hell
Sit by the fire, sing songs and tell tales
Of adventure and conquest, of black hearts and sails
So fill your cup sailor we leave here at dawn
Last drink before sunrise then we pillage some more
Witness our crimes
Thieving and slaying
Burning ships, raping wives
We bear the black sails, from the cannons lead flies
Free the madness within us
Then everyone dies
Sit by the fire, bring life to your bones
The cold sea is bitter when so far from home
So fill your cup sailor we leave here at dawn
Last drink before sunrise then it’s into the storm
Sit by the fire, sing songs and tell tales
Of adventure and conquest, of black hearts and sails
So fill your cup sailor we leave here at dawn
Last drink before sunrise then we pillage some more

It may not be a surprise to know that my introduction to this band was when they opened for Deströyer 666. I admit, their name didn't fill me with an abundance of anticipatory enthusiasm beforehand, but goddamn! did they own that stage while they were out there! Morts

I purchased Lunar Falls without hearing a second of it, assuming some kind of folk, maybe even reminiscient of Heilung. The latter it is not, but atmospheric and yet dark folk it is indeed! Beautifully fragile, peaceful and pristine, these 44 minutes should be enjoyed as a whole, resulting in a seamless and undeniably calming listening experience. If you're in any way prone to folk, there is nothing left to be desired here. Take a break from the rush that everyday life is, and breathe. Stunning. David Fischer
