lyrics
On they sailed, the Aagen fleet, triumphant and renewed
None could see the coming storm
Water hissed, beneath the ships, thick fog filled the air
All were filled with terror and despair
Spirits rose up, from the depths of the sea
Made them cry, made them bleed
Far across the Boiling Sea
A land of wealth, of Dwarven greed
We voyage to this place unknown
The Aagen fleet is coming home
Look beyond the boiling sea
Embrace the skies, the stars we need
Ocean graves await us all
Scalding death, the king will fall
Panicked men drew their swords, screamed their battle cry
Seeing demons in their kin
Some ships burned, madmen laughed
Leaving none alive, no end to be seen
Spirits rose up, from the depths of the sea
Made them cry, made them bleed
The king stood tall and called the gods
“Send the winds lest all be lost!”
Far across the Boiling Sea
A land of wealth, of Dwarven greed
We voyage to this place unknown
The Aagen fleet is coming home
Look beyond the boiling sea
Embrace the skies, the stars we need
Ocean graves await us all
Scalding death, the king will fall
Cursed sea bubbled with black air so stained
Breaking the minds of the brave men that came
Slaughtered each other or leapt from the mast
Tortured, tormented by ghosts of the past
Screaming and crying, broken and torn
Crumbling in the dark, right ‘fore the dawn
Then their salvation blew in from the east
On went their ships and the suffering ceased
Far across the Boiling Sea
A land of wealth, of dwarven greed
We voyage to this place unknown
The Aagen fleet is coming home
Now, beyond the boiling sea
Embrace the skies for those that bleed
Ocean graves for those that fell
We sail on far from this hell

It may not be a surprise to know that my introduction to this band was when they opened for Deströyer 666. I admit, their name didn't fill me with an abundance of anticipatory enthusiasm beforehand, but goddamn! did they own that stage while they were out there! Morts

I purchased Lunar Falls without hearing a second of it, assuming some kind of folk, maybe even reminiscient of Heilung. The latter it is not, but atmospheric and yet dark folk it is indeed! Beautifully fragile, peaceful and pristine, these 44 minutes should be enjoyed as a whole, resulting in a seamless and undeniably calming listening experience. If you're in any way prone to folk, there is nothing left to be desired here. Take a break from the rush that everyday life is, and breathe. Stunning. David Fischer
